Welcome to Elevate Consignment. Elevate Consignment Ltd. ("we," "our," or "us") operates an online marketplace platform connecting independent buyers and sellers in British Columbia, Canada. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard personal information when you use our website, mobile application, and services. It is intended to comply with Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act ("PIPEDA") and British Columbia's Personal Information Protection Act ("PIPA"). 1. Information We Collect

Account Information: Your name, email address, phone number, and password.

Profile & Listing Information: Your general geographic location and the photos, text, and other details you provide in a listing or profile.

Seller Identity Information: Before a Seller's first listing, the Seller must upload a clear photograph of one piece of valid, unexpired government-issued photo identification, for identity verification and approval to sell. We record the identification type, identification number, and expiry date, together with the Seller's name, residential address, and telephone number, in our seller register. The uploaded image is kept only until the Seller's first payout has been completed or, if the Seller has no completed sale, for 90 days after signup, and is then securely deleted.

Transaction Data: Transaction details, including marketplace commission fees. We do not store raw credit card details; those details are handled by a designated third-party payment processor.

Technical Data: Your Internet Protocol (IP) address, browser type, device information, cookies, and usage data.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use personal information to: verify and administer user accounts, including Seller identity at onboarding; meet recordkeeping and identity-verification requirements under the City of Coquitlam Secondhand Dealers and Pawnbrokers Bylaw No. 3848, 2007; verify Sellers during pickup and support a secure handoff; enable communication between Buyers and Sellers and coordinate local pickups; process marketplace commissions, support transactions, and prevent fraud; and comply with legal and tax obligations in British Columbia and Canada. We collect Seller identity information to verify identity, to prevent fraud and the sale of stolen or counterfeit goods, to maintain the seller and item registers contemplated by the City of Coquitlam Secondhand Dealers and Pawnbrokers Bylaw No. 3848, 2007, and to respond to lawful requests from law-enforcement authorities.

3. Sharing and Disclosure of Information

We do not sell personal information. We may share or disclose personal information in the following circumstances:

Between Users: A username, general location, and approved contact information may be shared as needed to support a transaction and coordinate pickup.

Third-Party Service Providers: Information may be shared with providers that support hosting, identity verification, payment processing, fraud prevention, or other Platform operations.

Legal Requirements: Information may be disclosed when required by law, court order, or a government authority in British Columbia or Canada.

Law Enforcement: We may disclose Seller identification and register information to a law-enforcement authority where required by law or lawful demand — including a demand to produce our registers — or where an item is reported stolen or is under investigation.

4. Data Security, Storage and Retention

Government-issued identification data and document images are stored using administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect them from unauthorized access, use, loss, alteration, or disclosure. Access is limited to authorized personnel and service providers who need the information for identity verification, legal compliance, transaction administration, or pickup verification.
